Frontera Pastelera bakes pan dulce and pastries that remind them of their childhood memories of growing up Mexican-American in a border town in the Rio Grande Valley.
Many of their loved ones have food allergies or follow vegan diets, which led them to focus on baking plant-based versions of the Mexican pan dulce and pastries they grew up with. They enjoy incorporating traditional flavors from their youth like mesquite and manzanilla, as well as putting a twist on classic pan dulce with flavors like earl grey tea and matcha.
Frontera Pastelera’s first popup took place at Sunshine Bakery in February 2021. Since then they have gone on to participate in several events hosted at Jaime’s Place, Artpace, Evergreen Garden Center, The Paper Tiger, Poetic Republic Coffee & Wine, Peacock Alley, Stranded Coffee, and many more local venues.
